Drones used by the US military have been widely condemned as an invasion of privacy, but one US drone operator has spoken out about his concerns over the use of them.
Key points:The US has been deploying a large number of drones, which have been seen as an invasive technologyThe new US programme is aimed at fighting ISThe pilot of one of the drones is currently serving in the US armed forcesHe said he felt “violated” and threatened after receiving the order from the commander of the US Army’s 7th Fleet, Col Gen Michael Vickers, and the pilot said he did not feel safe.
The new drone programme was first announced by US President Donald Trump on the weekend.
It was designed to help fight IS in Iraq and Syria.
It has already been used to carry out strikes against IS in the region.
The US military has been increasing its drone fleet since the end of the Obama administration.
The number of new drones has tripled since Trump took office, to around 8,000.
The drone programme is being carried out by the 7th Fighter Wing at the Navy’s Naval Air Station Patuxent River in Maryland.
It is part of a larger plan to develop and operate a fleet of drones capable of carrying out ground attack missions.
The Navy says its drones have the ability to fly at altitudes of up to 25,000 feet (6,000 metres), are equipped with sensors and can carry out surveillance.
But the US Air Force has said the drones are not meant to be used as a “warfighter-killer” but as a tool for precision reconnaissance and strike missions.US military experts have criticised the use and use of drones for surveillance purposes, with many saying the drones pose a significant risk to civilian populations.
The Pentagon says it uses drones to support US military operations, and that the US has conducted more than 1,600 drone strikes since 9/11.
The pilot is currently flying the F-35 Lightning II, which is the newest version of the F/A-18 fighter jet.
The F-15 is also in service.
The F-22 Raptor is a single-seat fighter jet used for surveillance, and is also being developed to replace the F35.
The program is also known as the Air Force One Program.
The Air Force says it is the first time in its history that the military has employed a drone in a combat role.
